World Water Day

Thursday March 22 is World Water Day.

The Observatory has forecast normal to low rainfall for 2012. Due to climate change, the long-term trend suggests the “year-to-year variability in rainfall” will rise, which means drought or deluge but less often something in between. With Guangdong continuing to develop, it’s doubtful whether Dongjiang water can continue to cater to our profligate use of this precious resource.

Friends of the Earth HK wants Hong Kongers to experience the kind of drought suffered by millions of people around the world by limiting our water consumption on World Water Day to 1.5 litres. Think you can do that?
